Bullish secures BitLicense, expands to 20 US states, offering regulated crypto trading, deep liquidity, and institutional-grade services for clients.

Bullish has expanded into the United States with approval to operate in 20 states. The platform secured both a BitLicense and a money transmission license from New York regulators last month. This approval allows Bullish to provide trading on a strictly regulated basis. The launch is an important step for the exchange in expanding its presence on a global scale.

Bullish Enters US Market with Institutional Clients

The company stated its platform will offer zero maker fees, low taker fees, and deep liquidity facilitated by Automated Market Maker technology. It also provides solid APIs for both institutions and professional traders. Since its launch in 2021, Bullish has seen over $1.5 trillion in trading volume. It is one of the top ten exchanges in the world where Bitcoin and Ether can be traded.

On its first day in a United States exchange, Bullish started trading two customers – BitGo and Nonco. BitGo is a crypto infrastructure, while Nonco is a brokerage. In addition, 14 trading partners were brought on to stand behind its options product. Some of these are Galaxy Digital, Cumberland, Wintermute, Flow Traders, FalconX, and B2C2. Such support represents a high degree of institutional confidence in the new US platform.

Bullish said it has created its trading system for efficiency. A single margin account can trade spot, perpetual futures, dated futures and options. The framework is to allow traders to hedge risks and to use portfolio collateral for capital efficiency. The company aims at servicing hedge funds, market makers, high-frequency traders, fintechs and sophisticated individuals.

Bullish Targets US Institutions with Regulated Trading Platform

Chris Tyrer, President, Bullish Exchange, said: “US institutions need more efficient execution and liquidity. He said Bullish is designed for institutions but now takes the same standards to advanced traders. Further, he said that the launch is a cost-effective, technologically advanced, and compliant launch.

The total crypto options market is now worth over $50 billion in open interest. Currently, Deribit dominates over 80% of that market. Bullish is looking to challenge this position by providing regulated alternatives. Its model can appeal to institutions that favor licensed locations with high performance and transparent policies.

Bullish’s entry into the US is expected to add more competition to the derivatives market. Those exchanges with licenses may gain more trust, while those without approvals may lose ground. In certain circumstances, weaker firms may be pushed into liquidation by increases in compliance costs. In addition, this may result in greater repossession of the industry.

Bullish’s growth is indicative of the regulatory framework that is being implemented in the next stage of crypto trading. Licensed exchanges are striving to make markets more liquid, safe, and efficient. With its gated entry, Bullish has put itself in a position to compete in one of the most important financial markets in the world. On the other hand, Bullish’s expansion into the US strengthens its role as a regulated exchange for institutions and advanced traders. With strong backing, it is set to challenge competitors and shape the future of compliant crypto trading.
