Angela Oakley is an independent woman!

The new member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 introduced her family in the latest episode of the Bravo series. After revealing that she is married to basketball legend, Charles Oakley, Angela noted she still has her own — very successful — career.

“My husband Charles, he played in the NBA, mainly with the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls,” she shared. “Charles cooks, he cleans. He’s like a dream come true!”

In addition to the 7-year-old daughter they share, named Arleigh, both Angela and Charles have children from previous relationships: her 24-year-old daughter Amari and 11-year-old son Aven, and his son Charlie Jr.

“Charles and I met in Chicago at a party,” Angela shared, but their love story didn’t start there.

“We exchanged numbers, and then I didn’t hear from that man for another 10 years when we became neighbors in the same condominium,” she explained. “I feel like our relationship was destined to happen.”

Angela shared that she owns her own financial consulting company.

“I am a self-made millionaire,” she said. “There’s not a dollar I don’t want. I bought five properties that I am currently renovating [and] trying to sell. I will not let go until it’s finished. Because I feel like if I let go, I give up on everything I’ve been working for the past three years.”

As for her dynamic with Charles, the businesswoman joked that they’ve learned to love each other’s sometimes annoying quirks.

“Why do you keep slamming dishes?” she asked as he prepared dinner while she was recounting a fight between castmates Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora from the night before.

“That’s what I do when I’m in the kitchen!” Charles quipped, “I don’t wanna hear this story.”

He added: “Let them talk about you, don’t talk about them.”

“The secret for loving a man like Charles is just letting him be who he is,” Angela explained in her confessional. “Charles and I sometimes can get in our own head, and he can’t hear me, and I can’t hear him.”

“Through therapy, I realized I wanted him to change,” she continued. “Then, I realized that I have flaws too.”
